Emergency Dentistry

Emergency dentistry can mean anything from trauma to tooth or gum pain. Before commencing treatment, it is important for us to take a full history of the problem, including when it started, how it occurred and what triggers the pain. An x-ray and other diagnostic tests may need to be done to determine the correct diagnosis.

Treatment can vary from a filling, root canal, extraction, or a referral to a specialist if treatment cannot be completed at a general practice.

At St Ives Smiles, we make sure a thorough history is taken, and appropriate tests are done before commencing treatment. We will provide adequate pain relief or antibiotics if required.
