Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth. Dental implants are typically made of titanium which looks like a screw. It is placed in the jawbone where the missing tooth’s roots once was. Over time, the bone around the implants grows and attaches around the screw which holds the implant in place.
Once the implant has been successfully integrated with bone, a custom made artificial tooth is placed on top.
Dental implants are a good option for patients missing a single tooth, or to hold a dental bridge.
At St Ives Smiles, we assess if dental implants are a good and economical option for you. Patients are assessed for good jaw bone density, good gum health and general health before proceeding with dental implants.
