Gum Disease Treatment

Gum disease is when the surrounding bone and gums of your teeth get infected due to plaque/tartar and deteriorate over time. In most cases, gum disease goes undetected and does not cause pain until the very late stages.

St Ives Smiles prides itself in detecting gum disease early. Early detection leads to an easier and more predictable treatment outcome. Theresa, the Dental Hygienist routinely checks the gum pockets for any potential underlying gum disease. A treatment plan is then prescribed depending on the severity of the disease, with support for home care and on going maintenance.

We believe gums are very important, as they are the basis in which our teeth live, without healthy gums, there are no foundations for healthy teeth!
